The main critique point that people had was that her feet were cropped; so I thought, to celebrate five years of TE, why not recreate them!
There are three main things you need to think about when re-creating things via cloning. The first is, what hints does the original give us about what lies outside the frame; how should it look? It really helps to have that fixed in your mind before starting, otherwise you'll probably end up reworking things over and over.
Second thing is; if you're using donor objects, try and work out what angle the light should be coming from and how sharp the objects should appear. After you've decided that, there's also the flipside to consider, where should the shadows be? Only place the shadows after you've finished the retouching; otherwise you'll have to recreate not only the textures and colours, but also the darkness and fuzzyness of the shadows.
The final two pieces of advice are: Always work zoomed in at least to 200%, 400% is best if working on fine detail. The other is clone along lines of detail.
