I make this re-posting because I made a version I am more happy with, and this is also the pic I showed on an exhibition in my hometown together with the cameraclub I'm part of... I feel this version adds more power to the image.
I made it BW, toned it in duotone and used USM.

I have looking at your picture for quite some time. The longer I looked at it, the more I found that that darker area in the right upper corner made the picture almost falling down in that direction. I rotated your shot 90 degrees, added 5% contrast and a black border. This black border brings out the wonderful black that returns in the cracks and the animals. The rotation to a portrait frame makes the whole composition rest on the darker area, now in the right bottom corner.
