Workshop Note

So to avoid the noise, I switched the Image>Mode to Lab, then lassooed her face and then went to channels and picked channels a and b, applying gaussian blur to each of them. Then I switched back to RBG in Image>Mode. Then I did ctrl+L to get the levels, which I brightened. Then I went backwards a step but put the "history brush" (now the future brush) into the most recent step, levels. Then I painted her face with it. I also did some stuff with colour burn to bring back some vividness in her face, which was looking a bit faded.

Got it? Hope you like it.
