Walkway to Paradise (49)

Pearl Beach Resort, Bora Bora, French Polynesia

The Pearl Beach Resort has 20 garden suites with private pools, 10 beach suites with private jacuzzis and 50 overwater bungalows. The overwater bungalows are linked to the main resort and beach by walkways, shown here. The overwater bungalows can sleep three people, but are mostly occupied by honeymooners and couples. They have a king size bed, futon/couch, a beautiful bathroom, tables that opens to the water below, and a deck with lounge chairs and shower. This happens to be my favorite hotel in the world. A word of advice to those staying on the beach or in the garden suites, especially...bring mosquito repellant by the gallon.

When we visited last year, we saw the future Ritz-Carlton under construction. The bungalows were twice this size and our Tahitian guide told us the floors were to be made of glass. This made us laugh when he joked that snorkelers would get more than they bargained for if they swam under someone's bathroom. The price for one night was reportedly $1500! Tahiti is an expensive destination, but well worth it.

See my workshop where I corrected the horizon, finally. :)

The horizon can be adjusted easily by rotating CW 1° in PP.
