As I said in my comment, I would have used a different framing for this photo, and that is what I tried to exemplify with this WS.
First I addressed other issue I wasn't very confortable with: The pale sky and mountain. I added a second layer and filled it with 50% grey. I sellected "soft light" as the blend mode. I then, selected this grey layer (which by now shouldn´t be visible) and then selected the brush tool. I then added low oppacity blacks and whites: blacks in the sky and mountais to make them darker and whites on the sand and jeep to make them whiter, and simulate the burning heat.
After "straightening" the photo I cropped it: a bit in the left, and a lot to the right - in my oppinion the second mountain wasn't adding a lot to the photo (one mountain is enough ;-P).
The finishing touch was a white frame with 10% of the smallest width.
