Blumenau was founded by German immigrants in 1850. It is one of many colonies founded by European immigrants in Southern Brazil. Much of their culture and traditions are still preserved nowdays, like the famous Oktoberfest for instance, which is celebrated in Blumenau every single year and based on the original Oktoberfest from Munich. German presence is also remarkable in the beautiful and typical architecture of many little and medium sized towns in Southern Brazil, like you can see on this photo.

Cropped to have more focus on the main subject, take away some not so interesting details. Saturated, that is added some more colours, decreased the light, added contrast, used the unsharp mask (30/50), finally added the frame. Well IMO it works better this way :-)
