As you know, Mariusz favourite personal theme is blue hour. So, when we were in Whitby, we looked for the best place to make some nice shots.
The blue hour is the period of twilight each morning and evening where there is neither full daylight nor complete darkness. The time is considered special because of the quality of the light. Photographers call it sweet light.
In December, in England, it is around 4 p.m. and this best time lasts rather short time, so when you are in one place, you can't be in another, you must make decision.
So, we went around Whitby and discussed what to do. To go for famous fish and chips before, or after? What would be the best place - the view from near the whale jaws, or maybe near the bridge, or climb 199 steps near the Abbey? In spite all these considerations and effort, we didn't see blue hour :(, or rather we saw the abbey with blue but it was not the right place.
So this is the view of the end of 199 steps but rather in pink. It is maybe not so spectacular like Sydney Opera House at sunrise, specially taken by Lisa, but I like this view anyway. I was not disappointed.
