Wonder what she is doing in the late afternoon! She puts passion & soul and so deeply engaged in everything she does here and i just love to capture a moment of her busy life from some distant. This was shot in a village called Ban Mai 5 km south of Louangnamtha, showing a colourful highly energetic Tai Dam woman in Namtha river searching for edible river weeds found to be in great abundance on the clean fast flowing river. The green harvest is gathered using netting scoop then squeezed and finally brought home and sun dried - as food supplement.
Camera setting was preset manually to widest possible aperture to keep the background soft uncluttered and this was the result I aimed for from quick burst of shots. This capture a daily slice of life, is one take straight on shot, if I don’t get it right the first time it will probably never happen again.
I truly enjoy the freedom of being on my own in this friendly photogenic remote outpost, set my own rules and move at my own pace. I enjoy every moment of it and being out there is fun and I am at peace alone while watching the river of life....
