Home of the oldest University in the english speaking world, Oxford also parks, rivers and quaint houses.
The university ranks high among places of education all over the world, and the beautiful environs are definitely a bonus.

This is the great dining hall situated inside the Gothic building of your picture.

It inspired Hogwarts dining Hall in the Harry Potter's films.

On the left wall are the famous stained glass windows showing elements of "Alice in Wonderland". See WS 3&4.

This picture was taken around 11 o'clock on a week day. So, the table was laid for the students'lunch. The smell coming from the kitchen made us hungry !

On the left, you can see Alice, and on the right, Charles Dodgson=Lewis Carroll.

The left coat of arms is Henry VIII 's, as he was the founder of Christ Church College.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the right coat of arms is.

The little characters at the bottom and around the coat of arms are all taken from "Alice in Wonderland".

This is the famous staircase from the top of which Professor Mc Gonagall welcomed Harry Potter and his mates on their first year at Hogwarts ! No wonder they were awed by the sight !

The staircase is situated in the square tower "Fell Tower" at the right end of the Gothic hall of your picture.

This is the ceiling of the famous staircase leading up to the great dining hall.

It's a fan-vault ceiling. This style was first created in the cloister of Gloucester Cathedral also used in Harry Potter film n°1. HERE
