Loch an Eilean is located a couple of miles south of Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park. On the island are the ruins of a 14th century castle. This was used as a place of safety by the locals when the reivers (thugs & cattle thieves) came calling.
I like the way the reflection of the clouds in the water gives the impression of an island floating above the water. (It looks like that to me anyway) :-)
