Whilst spending a day in Listvyanka we caught the ferry across the Angara River. This old boat was docked in Port Baikal just where the Angara River flows out of Lake Baikal.
The Angara River is the only river which flows out of Lake Baikal - 336 rivers flow in. Lake Baikal is the world's deepest lake at 1637metres - and growing as it is formed by rifting tectonic plates. Lake Baikal is 636kms from north to south but only 60kms wide and holds nearly a fifth of the world's fresh unfrozen water.
I have post-processed this photo through a pseudo HDR program and I really liked the resulting effect. However there is no hiding of the gloomy day nor the remoteness of the location.
PS In a workshop, following Elena's suggestion, I have posted the original photo.
