Photographer’s Note

Just curious about what you think of this one...

It's the town where I was born and spent my teenage years, a square that was recently renovated where I had never been before. The POV appears in this other post of mine. On the upper right lies Palácio Amarelo (Yellow Palace) and to the left of it we can see the top of one of the towers of the cathedral.

It's a stitch of two horizontal shots that I posted as WS.

Olá José,
Que trabalho fantástico de stitch! Vendo as duas que formaram esta, fiquei impressionada como o produto final ficou melhor que as duas separadamente. A foto superior (no WS) poderia ser uma principal, mas o acréscimo do pé da inferior adicionou muito no efeito profundidade... incrível! Uma pena teres tido que cortar o topo da árvore para aprumar a imagem, mas o que se ganha com a colagem supera muito todo o resto.
A nitidez está magnífica! A superfície da água com o reflexo e, ao mesmo tempo, o fundo visível com a textura do piso quase palpável, está um espanto de bem feito - é como se eu estivesse no local, usando meus óculos novos ;-)
Gostei muito de ver o POV na outra foto... trouxeste para perto aquela arvorezinha, que nem é tão pequena assim, e tomou novo vigor aqui.
Bom, vou ter que dar uma palavrinha lá na foto da Catedral... já fui vê-la algumas vezes, por conta de teus links, tenho que agradecer ao Pedro Mesquita :-)

Very neat and clean place where you spent your teenage years here!
Yes, the pov is great to include the beautiful reflection from the buildings with those beautiful lighting from the right handside!
if the sky is clear with good cloud formations will be ideal in fullness!
I still loved it!

Besides this photo being very beautiful, the stitching is made very skilfully. A good POV, which gives a great perspective of the pool. Nice natural colours, beautiful reflections, and perfect sharpness. A good note with additional links. Well done!

Hello José,

The strong diagonal adds a fine dynamic effect, and the mirror gives impact!
I'm sad to see the old tree has suffered some damage, hopefully there still is some life...
The red wall stands out among all white houses, maybe the green container is a bit disturbing but we cannot always have it our way..!

Jose, I think this is a fine shot, it interests me because of the water, I like the shallow pond and the design of it. This shot is much more reveling than the previous high angle one. Fine capture.

Olá José,
além de ser uma simpática vila (pelo menos por essa imagem) gostei do reflexo observado aqui. Curiosa também a quantidade de antenas na cidade, polui bastante visualmente, acredito que deveria haver alguma política para o uso delas, pelo menos em cidades históricas ou regiões históricas.

Olá José!
Mais uma vez conseguiste fazer um bom trabalho a partir de várias fotos. Gosto dela, do pov, da luz. Acho que já não conheço mesmo nada de Portalegre. As bolas de pedra ao fundo são um bom detalhe, já para não falar do reflexo das casas. As antenas também são uma característica bem alentejana, infelizmente a maior parte dos sítios ainda está cheio delas.

I think this photo is great, Jose! I really like its square shape, the POV, the light, and the nice but not over-the-top frame. It's the size that works so well for me here- also, of course, the beauty of the scene itself!

Jose,
technically flawless stitch work. I imagine that the stitch has to go through the water, but I can't see it anywhere despite the movement of the surface. The soft and diffuse light provides a homogenous aspect over the architectural elements and only the red/brown wall are the real contrast. Personally I wish the inclusion of some people walking by and providing more life to the image.

Olá José,
a nice idea of lines, the crossing ones from the pavement in the water let the eye search for some orientation. Clear in less light and what I do like here a lot is the soft blurred reflection. Good stitch and as I see in the soft shadows good light management.

Excelente ideia de fazer descobrir a tua cidade de nascimento, LHE torna-se mais humana. A fotografia, uma montagem muito de boa qualidade muito é construídas bem, com esta vista deesta bacia surpreendente e estética. Gosto da arquitectura colorée da cidade e a descoberta clocher, (no meio de uma floresta de antenas:). Muito bonita imagem, muito boa realização.

Excellent works of stitching two horizontal frames as same the quality of your photo(s). Reflection of red facade on water canal is very attractive while the canal increasing perspective there. Great works in perfect clarity and sharpness.

This capture is a perfect evidence for a "good photographers eye" . How many people may have passed at the scene, without thinking to make a capture there ?

This is a nice shot with this reflection pool. The reflection creates depth and balance. The angle of the shot is fine giving the shot a nice sense of direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Algún día me acercaré a visitar esta ciudad a la que estuve a punto de ir cuando fui a Marvao pero el camarero del restaurante no me la recomendó.
