Photographer’s Note
Nihat's grandparents (please, read below) in typical activities (they were not posing !) - the grandfather, who is often seen in the centre of town sipping tea and playing tavla, is reading an official paper here.
If you are interested in the architecture of this old house leaning and partly inside a fairy chimney (hence the title - but they don't live there anymore, just spending days sometimes as it is close to their field), I've already posted other photos of it : apart from the link mentioned below, here is another viewpoint : taken a bit earlier, when we were getting to know each other, the little boy still shy sitting in his swing.
(NB : this is the result of 3 photos taken from the same POV = sitting on the sofa where Nihat and his grandmother would be laughing so uncontrollably later on - NB : the plate of cucumbers, green prunes and watermelon had not yet been touched, I was waiting for them to join me.
So this photo took some more work : I had aimed in succession to the brightly lit courtyard, then to the persons in the open arched room, and finally to the plate in front of me. I agree that it is also a sort of unreal photo regarding the light at some places... Still I think that it will remain my last version).

Congratulations Catherine, you show our traditions and daily life more than us. May be, we are used to see such kind of scenes Taht's why we are not so much interested in shooting these. In fact, I hesitate to take photo of people for the moment. May be in future I will be able to take them.
This is so beautiful photo representing the life of an Anatolian family. Thanks and congratulations again.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi Catherine: So it looks like you take a lot of time to take this photo. And the outcome is quite worthy, the sharpness and the colors are very well handle and you manage to show the situation in a nice composition, probably the only one possible. You have also portrait here a society, I suspect. Take care.

I love this shot, Catherine! The bright white light is delicious. All the other vivid colours look much more eyecatching in that light. I love the details as well and the cadrage is very good what with the arch above. This is really very good, my friend. Hugs and kisses.

Salut Cath,

Passionnant !
Amitiés.

Beautiful Cath. So daily, so natural, so lively and such a reminder... a reminder of sometimes what we ignore.

Bonjour Catherine,
Nicely composed with superb sharp details and great colors. The fact that they are posing or not is really not so important, what is important really is the outcome which look quite nice.
Amities. Salvator.

Salut Cath

Amicalement a toi,
Branko
