Photographer’s Note

13 days and a half...its are the last days before the vacation...a month of relax, of peace and calm.
The night between the 2th and the 3th of August we'll leave Milan to Livorno to have our ferry at 7 in the morning.

A months with friends, with children, with a big villa to clean every day, with bathrooms transformed in small beach full of sand, with someone (me, but it's my hobby) that everyday must cook for all the people, built giant castle under the sun, wake up at 7.30 in the morning when we are lucky (there is the daughter of our friend that have 6 months and still she eat in the midlle of the night some milk), we haven't A/C and in the last days temperatures in Sardinia were similar to the one of Milan, so, it means as in an horror movie, beds full of sands, children that have riot moments...a normal family life, but...WITHOUT BUSINESS!

...and not only, 'cause every evening i know that the children will be with the moms and us, fathers, we will have our 15 minutes of glory.

Sitted on the terrace looking west to the Olbia Gulf, with fantastic sunsets in the eyes, colorful sky, a couple of 66cl frozen bottle of Ichnusa Beer for each (Ichnusa is a great Sardinian beer!), some olives, some appetizer, as small peaces of cheeses, ham, salame, chips.

La foto è bella, con l'uccello che va in ferie! Ma la nota mi ha fatto ridere tanto! I lavori forzati delle vacanze che cominciano con il viaggio notturno per Livorno. E poi i letti pieni di sabbia, sabbia dappertutto!
Auguri di buone ferie.
La Sardegna per noi è lontanissima e carissima, ci sono stata più volte e il mare non ha uguali. Ma gli scempi che ho visto sulla costa mi hanno guastato le vacanze. Solo della scuola di vela a Caprera ho un buon ricordo, nonostante le scuffiate.

Ciao Paolo, la tua nota mi ha strappato un sorriso largo largo! Non ho bambini che si svegliano nel cuore nella notte, ma in compenso ho un fidanzato che mi ha già promesso alzate ad orari improponibili, ma va bene, anch'io avrò la mia macchinina con me.
I colori di questa foto sono bellissimi, peccato solo che non si possa sentire il profumo di mirto nell'aria!

Colori mozzafiato e bella composizione Paolo , complimenti ; molto simpatica la nota , io ci sono già stato ( a Porto Ottiolu ) a giugno quindi ormai è già un ricordo lontano .

So you are counting the days now? ;o)
I like the description in your note... and I'm not sure that it's the type of holidays that I would personnally enjoy, but I can understand that you are looking forward to it, like each year! Anyway, I suppose that witnessing a sunset like the one you have posted here is a wonderful reward after a long, hot and busy day and just for that it's all worthwhile.
The colours are superb and I like the way the sky does from orange/yellow to dark blue and the passing gull (?) is the cherry on the cake!

at my opinion you should upload a more cheerful-optimistic photo that your vacations begin in so few days.Never mind,it's an atmospheric shot with a huge colourful sky.Indeed, it is so much better to provide the expansive horizontal view here. The subdued light, with the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds makes this a memorable shot.Well done.

Love your note Paolo. It really left me with a big smile on my face. It gives me some insight on how my own vacations will be, with four kids and three families on a summer house. The photo is quintessential Paolo if I must add. Nobody does these sunset shots like you. Colors are amazing. Very good.

Hello Paolo,
This is absolutely wonderful, what an amazing sky and colours!
Love even more the way this vertical format leaves the needed space to this beautiful sky and at the same time leaves space for the silhouettes of trees bellow. The bird flying by over the scene adds peace to this amazing scene.
