Photographer’s Note
Grote of Sint Bavokerk repost
Here is my second repost and this time again of a picture from my home- and birthtown Haarlem.
The first version was far too over-PP'ed, so I decided to post this other version. However it was still a hard picture to handle, because of the weather circumstances. (It was an extremely bright winter day, when I took this one).
De Grote of Sint Bavokerk (Great or Saint Bavo Church) is the pride of Haarlem. The church was built in the Gothic style of architecture. The church started as a Catholic church, but in 1578 it was converted to Protestant church.
More information can be read in the orginal note.
Hope you like this second version!

Hello Lars !
I had a look at the original version. Indeed, it was a bit over sharpened. This one looks much better to me.

Hi Lars, A nice shooting angle in taking this picture. You have combined of making use of the sun light angle and a nice POV in taking this picture. The contrast against the blue sky is very clear and nice. A good DOF to have a nice depth. Well done.

Hi Lars,
I must say I preferred this to the other version. It is less straineous to the eyes and the sharpness is not overly harsh. I like the composition of this shot where you point at the corner creating interesting slopes from the left and right. The walls on both sides are also not competing with the tower being the focus of interest. Very impressive!! Best regards.

Bonsoir Lars,

Groeten,
John.

Hi Lars, nice upward perspective and nice light control. Nice details on the house in the foreground. All theses structures stand out very nice against the blue sky. Beautiful colours and contrast as well. Well done!

Hi Lars. Good job on this shot. I like the three distinct and different structures, all of varying colours. The sky provides a further contrast. Good crisp shot with good POV. Well seen and well executed. Regards.

It's a good repost, not over sharpened and more natural colors also. The point of view is good to capture the tower at the base of the V. It creates a good dynamic to move to the focal point and helps create depth. The lighting at this time of day helps too with the faces in light and shadow.

Lars, c'est un cliché plein de dynamisme avec ces perspectives verticales données par les monuments et ce clocher d'argent sur le ciel bleu.

Hej Lars,
I love such perspectives from down up and this corner approach shows us wonderful architectural details. Yes, the conditions should notbethe best, but the result is very good. Excellent improvements from the first POV, that had too over-saturated colors. These ones are much more naturaland pleasing. The composition is very good and the color of the skt enhance and makes a nice contrast. Very well done!

Ricardo

Very nice framing for this church's tower, well positionned between the top of the facade of the old house on the left and the main part of the church's building on the right. Good sharpnes to show the delicate stone carvings.
All the best,
Emmanuel
