Photographer's Note
dedicated to everyone who is waiting for spring
---
This picture was shot one early January morning on the left bank of the river Scheldt. I live all the way on the other side of the city, but Antwerp is a small place.
The three towers in my shot make up our admittedly modest skyline. From left to right, they are
- the Cathedral of Our Lady ("Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal), with its one tower finished and the other one only half, one of the most impressive buildings of nothern gothic
- the Boer Tower ("Boerentoren"), Europe's oldest 'Chicago-style' skyscraper, now owned by a bank
- the Oudaan, which is the headquarters of the Antwerp police, it's on the far right of the picture (no pun intended, haha!)
Stay sane, folks.

Dag Benny,
Een ode aan de verdwenen scheepswerven ? Een mooie koele kijk op "het" stad, in zachte kleuren.
Groetjes,

Hi Benny, hehehe nice title, very clever. That sky of yours is superb and I can;t believe how good the DOF is. Interesting composition with the water and its reflections a highlight for me. TFS and have a beautiful evening, Lisa

Goedenavond Benny,
Een vreemd en interessant licht op deze beroemde vlaamse stad en de Schelde. Heerlijk voorgesteld met deze onverwachte voorgrond!
Nog een prettige avond verder.

Dear Benny
Yes a familiar skyline from the other side of the Scheldt. The cathedral, KBC Tower (when I was there, it was Kredietbank) and the Oudaan, but the best part of course is the discarded propeller which looks like a large screw set to the ground and a fitting title to the picture...well done!
Best Regards
Angshu

Hi Benny, I like the atmopshere of this one - you've captured the grimness of the European winter very well here. There's a nice sense of balance to the shot, and a quirkiness b/c of the lost-looking propeller so out of place. Good work.
Regards
Ryno
