Photographer’s Note
I've added a fake blue sky, to mask the heavy air pollution haze, & boosted saturation slightly, excluding the red flags. From Wikipedia:
"Tiananmen Square (simplified Chinese: 天安门广场; traditional Chinese: 天安門廣場; pinyin: Tiān'ānmén Guǎngchǎng) is the large plaza near the center of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen (literally, Gate of Heavenly Peace) which sits to its north, separating it from the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as a symbol because it was the site of several key events in Chinese history".
Here's another view on TL, showing the pollution.

Hello Chris,
En effet, les drapeaux rouges contrastent bien.
Bon cadrage d'une scène animée par toutes ces personnes.
Best regards

Nice shot Chris, i wouldn't noticed the fake sky if you haven't mentioned. The contrast of the red flag and the tower against the sky is pleasing to the eye. Well done.

Interesting that you write that you changed totally the colour of the sky, something that I've yet to learn - I wonder how the original looked like (it's a long time I've not been there) ?... The colours otherwise are very typical, slightly yellowish ; amusing to see the skirts now that they are somehow disappearing in the west, but after decades of blue uniform, one can understand !
Interesting daily life scene, TFS !

Beaucoup de symbôles ici Chris, on voit que les Chinois sont attachés à cette célèbre place.
Le rouge tranche bien dans ce ciel d'un bleu très pâle.
Best regards.

Hello Chris,
These red flags are really photogenic, I remember I also used them in pictures around Tiananmen Square with people and guards. But you show us a natural, very natural picture of what the immense square looks like, and we can hardly see the other end. Walking around it must be like half an hour at least
I wish you a very good Sunday - Izzet
