3 x 2 @ the banks of Godavari river Photo

Photographer’s Note

Some of you know that landscapes (and sunsets) are not my cup of tea... Anyway during my last travel I did not see really stricking ones, but I thought that this vast view with the banks of the sacred river (the "southern Ganges") could be worth posting here, even if not very good.

Photo taken from my room in the pilgrimage town of Bhadrachalam. Tiny silhouettes are there to be seen, it takes some imagination to distiguish the 2 men fishing the other side of the river (only a few pixels).

Salut Cath,
Je ne savais pas que tu étais une adepte des couchers de soleil!
La lumière est belle mais il y a pas mal de bruit dans l'image.
Tes deux personnages sont un peu loin et centrés. Ceci dit le charme du moment est bien rendu.

They may not be your cup of tea, but this one has amazing graphics. You captured the soul of the place and the moment very well. By the way, it seems a little too sharp. Is this the original shot, or have you used unsharp mask?

Hello Catherine,
Your cup of tea or not, your little Ixus did some real good work here. Composition is flawless with the two people in front and the way you placed the sun in the frame. Sharpness is very high, maybe a bit to much, but this is not a high-end digital DSLR but just a little Ixus, and that impresses me most.

wow....im amazed looking the river....and imagining how big at must be during its prime....i feel bad when look at most the rivers shrinking each day.....

tu vois bien que desfois il faut se reposer de tous ces gens, des caracteres, des vertues et des defauts. La nature nous offre des reserves d'energie et elle sert bien de refuge. Cette scene sur la riviere, que j'aime bien d'ailleurs, est une pause entre deux cliches des gestes, des caracteres, des coulerus vivantes...Je te connais deja. Dieu l'a voulu. Grand merci

I am quite used to your candid portrait shots, but contrary to what you stated, this landscape shot is superb job. I really like the reflective mirror effect of the water from this angle shot, giving it such a devine mood. Very sharp and good composition here.

The small scale of boats and the people strolling along the beach, as well as in the water, helps to bring a good aspect of this place. Great work.

I know that landscapes & sunsets are not your cup of tea & so I had to check twice that this was your post. Your talent is going wasted I feel, but then I do like to see your daily life pics better, with the definitive 'Cath' touch. Love the colours here & the silhouettes, but as Fusun has said, maybe a tad too sharp or is it due to the application of shadow-highlight on a darkish picture?
