Photographer’s Note

Tenements on the Old Town Market Square in the city of Poznan. The Old Town Square, dating back from 1253, is one of the most representative symbols of Poznan. Originally, it was enclosed by fortified walls with as many as thirty-five towers and four gates. Six centuries later, the majority of the fortifications was put down. Around 60 per cent of the Old Town was flatterned during World War II, though most of the houses were meticulously rebuilt in the 1950s following Baroque and Renaissance styles.

Hello Mikolaj,
I've seen these fantastic buildings before on TE. Here you have added the colourful labourers, matching the houses and adding life to the square. It's also a well cropped picture.

Bardzo ładna, kolorowa architektura... scenka z ubranymi kolorowo facetami też interesująca. Trochę mało ostrości, ale tutaj jakoś szczególnie to nie przeszkadza.

Wow, this is one fantastic shot! even without the people it would be excellent with the succession of colourful houses but the figures make it a stunner, with the men in blue caught under the blue house and the man in red - under the red one! Compliments for this!

Hi Mikolaj, this is really an excellent shot, you got a spirit in it, a mood, a smily one :)
I love the graphism due to your tight composition, cutting a little bit the roofs and of course the sky was the right choice to keep our eyes closed in your frame, those working person adds a funny aspect on this tremendous background.

Coś w tym zdujęciu jest nierealnego, nie wiem co. Wygląda jak dekoracja teatralna. Bardzo wąskie te kamieniczki. fajnie zauwazeni ci faceci z rusztowniem. Chyba dopiero co skończyli malować inną stronę.

Hi Mikolaj! You've had perfect timing to shot the red dressed worker in font of the red house and the blue dressed workers in front of the blue one! Beautiful natural colors though the cloudy light and great sharpness. I like also the composition with the grey pavement lines guiding the eye to the bright background. The workers mad it real, otherwise you could have photographed a historical set! The colored basket on the right is another unconscious point of interest and with the pigeons on the left center the men's group. I don't think you knew it when you shoot, but it works very well!

Patrzcie ludzie jaki przeskok! Kraków, Warszawa a teraz Poznañ. W Poznaniu te¿ maj± fajne kamienice na Starym Rynku. Poznañskie Stare Miasto jest ciekawe i ma swój klimat. Choæ kilka budowli tam zupe³nie nie pasuje.

One takes a very striking composition, full of geometric shapes, which give an unparalleled graphics. Walkers give momentum to the scene, and the frame saves a great balance, beautiful hues.
