Photographer's Note

My first attempt, at visiting the Great Wall of China. As you can see visibilty is limited and it's pouring rain. But I liked the repetition of the umbrellas. Shot at Badaling.

Olá Chris, another great one of the Wall. I wouldn't like to be here with this weather, but the atmosphere of this photo sure is fantastic. Love the image disapearing in the background. This is the proof that even with rain, we can make good shots. Very well done.

Hello Chris,
An unusual shot of the Great Wall and well worth taking. The raining atmosphere is well captured and I do like the umbrellas. Very good tones and clarity despite the mist.

You seem to have frequented this wall under so various weather conditions, I prefer this weather for the shooting as it makes the photo more unusual and gives more emphasis to the people on the FG : amusing !

Hi Chris, this is a tough shot, to show the people and the rain. The deepening fog gives us a pretty good indication of the rain. I especially like the lady in blue, looks like she's in a bit of a hurry, and not liking this rain. The guy in red is the typical, patient husband, waiting for his wife to catch up (haha). Very good colour and tone set in this shot. This is great.

sudden attack of the "Mongolian Umbrellafighters"? ;-)
Real heavy rain as nothing in a few meter distance is visible any more, like a stairway to Nirvana. Good colour impression and nice patterns from the wall.

Hello Chris,
my friend, you were very unlucky that you find in the Great Wall and was rained. When I found there in passed March fortunately had sun,but with enough clouds.Never mind as you write in your note,the colourful umbrellas create a nice scene.Well done.

Hi Chris. You seemed to have enjoyed the Great Wall in all weathers! A very well composed shot -- the rains, the haze, the colourful umbrellas, the tone of the wall - all inclusive. The posture of the woman (if I am sure)in the f/g in the bluish raincoat is quite amusing. Dancing or checking the inertia of motion while coming down? Enjoyed. Regards.

Your umbrellas in the fog looks very impressive. Very nice air perspective. You had hard light so I think that this wasn't good day for a trip, but this capture is excellent!

Great shot! I like the fog on the wall, which certainly gives this a different kind of appearance than the normal shot of the Great Wall. The people on the wall are quite entertaining too, or at least the one running up the stairs is. Well done!

A great monulent and aterrible weather.. i just had the same in the Golden Rock, Myanmar! But the atmosphere here is very well rendered with umbrellas and Great Wall disappearing in the fog!

Haven't seen a similar shot ever before! Love the wall disappearing in the downpour in the BG..the umbrellas provide nice colours, but certainly not a moment for photographers. Excellent!

Hello Chris. Rain. Umbrella is obligation. My favourite weather: -) But the large wall does not see one each day. A pleasure does not seem to be it however. And a remote view is not possible also.
