Photographer’s Note

End September, the sun was gone. October started rainy and cloudy.

From a high point, I was looking over Göreme, while the wind was blowing the balloons over the town at a safe distance from the houses along the new local rule.

Wonderfull scenery, very nice pov. Dark sky gives a great background to the ballons as well as the landscape.
I don't think there is a cloning as I also know this region very well and it's not seldom that more than a dozen ballons can be seen atop, at the same time.
Anyhow, good and perfect shot.

This photo is unbelievable!! I had to look twice because i wasn't sure whether you had 'photoshopped' the balloons in. This photo is really beautiful. You have captured this moment beautifully. I love the dull colours in the architecture against the colourful balloons. Truly amazing. xx

I would try another framing.. this is the only one thing to change.. except that: perfect time, point of view, almost ecqual to the baloons.. How nice is to see them in such a group.. I like the colour of the sky.. it isn't blue and that makes the shot even more unusual..beyond the standard.

Bonjour, Catherine.

Une très belle photo, pourtant, dans un registre différent de ce qu'on est habitués à voir chez toi.
Une belle composition aux couleurs qui font parfaitement bien ressortir les mongolfières. Les nuages et le temps pluvieux sont souvent plus favorables à la photographie qu'un fort soleil...J'aime le cadrage et le fond qui s'estompe progressivement. Ton cadre ajouté est inhabituel et pourtant, je pense que c'est la couleur la plus adaptée pour mettre en valeur cette image. Un bon travail.

Wow, c'est simplement incroyable !!! Surréaliste aussi.
Toutes ces montgolfières dans ce monde étonnant... On dirait une sorte d'image de BD d'anticipation... Une ambiance magique... Comme je t'envie d'avoir vécu cela.

Etonnante vision, presque comme dans un rêve...tous ces ballons au dessus de ce splendide paysage, c'est magnifique! Seule la forme de certains ballons sur les bords de l'image est un peu bizarre (utilisation du grand angle?)

what a magnificent panarama.The pale colours dotted with terracotta gives it a feel of an ancient map. Now you will need to write a book of your photographic trips so tht you can use this as a cover.

Salut Catherine, elle est monstrueuse ta photo, franchement c'est trop trop beau, toutes mes félcitations, elle a qqch d'iréel et un je ne sais quoi qui me fascine, sans doute lié au coté "étonnant" de cette scène, et du ciel qui n'est pas d'un grand bleu et c'est bien mieux comme ça

Without the balloons this would just be an ordinary photo ... you were in the right place and the right time to capture this fantastic scene. The dark sky was a big plus because it made the balloons standout. Well captured and composed. Excellent work! tfs

Simply amazing Cath...for a moment I thought this from Bagan in Myanmar...balloons! Superb capture with the natural formations 'jostling' space with the haphazard urban sprawl. Excellent work!

This looks like a movie set, with a miniature town and toy balloons. I expect a large hand to suddenly come into the frame and re-arrange some things.

Une des plus belles photos de ballons que j'ai jamais vue. Tres particulière parceque l'on voit entièrement la petite ville avec tant d'aéronefs en même temps et il me semble rare que le vent les dirigent par là. Les nuages gris ajoutent une note dramatique..

SUPERBE ! quelle photo ! et quelle chance d'avoir pu la faire-Göreme c'est déjà beau mais alors avec ces ballons ! T'es sur que c'est pas l'image d'un film fantastique, vraiment c'est trop! veinarde - ce ciel ne me déplait pas du tout, au contraire, il ajoute au fantastique - chapeau !
