Photographer’s Note

Silver Sea in front of Monaco and Beausoleil.

A picture from the Moyenne Corniche, the Route Nazionale 7, that runs some hundreds of meters over the Mediterranean sea along the red rocks cliffs of Cote d'Azur.
It was built in the 20's and 30's (Nice-Monaco 1927, et Monaco-le Cap Martin 1939), some hundreds of meters closest to the sea than the Grand Corniche, an old Roman Street (Via Julia) that was restored by Napoleone Bonaparte.

The Moyenne Corniche ends the run close to Roquebrun-Cap Martin, where merges in the Grand Corniche, and then, as Route Nationale 7, it arrives to the Italian border in the Menton municipality, at the Pont Saint Louis Check Point, that in the 50's, 60's and 70's it was a famous location for many spy-story movies as:
The Day of the Jackal with Michael Lonsdale and Edward Fox and Le Corniaud with Louis de Funès and Bourvil
