Taken with a 28mm wide angle lens. Not much time to compose here, as this is taken from a moving cable car across the Yangsi River (Chang Jiang), which is to the right of this image. This is the old downtown section of Chongqing, a city of 10 million in central China. I liked the buildings in the right part of the image being perpendicular, but the left part being distinctly tilted off centre & needing a rotational correction. I decided against correction, as the 'lean' is in keeping with the swaying of the cablecar from side to side.
The street is Jiefang DongLu / Shaanxi Lu, looking towards the docks. Modern Chongqing has plenty of neon & skyscrapers, so this is not representative of CQ at all.

Good shot considering you had limited time to frame. Of all the cities that I visited during my recent China trip, Chongqing was the city that I like least. Maybe because it rained the whole day so the streets, which looked very old, became desolate and uninviting.
The photo has good depth and the gloomy weather and mood is exactly what I remember of Chongqing... Good shot for my personal archives :) Thanks for sharing.

nice vertigo angle, very well seen here and the buildings here are quite rustic as is most of the buildings in China, well done

Very dramatic. Looks like Europe back in the Middle Ages...minus the cars and the colorful shopfronts. This is excellent work. The misty atmosphere combined with the crumbling bulidings works rather well here. To revisit the European Middle Ages a B&W version would have been excellent.

Chris I love the colours here; dark, moody, saturated by the wet weather. The vantage point is great too; you've made wonderful use of the curve in the road. But the mist, how it shrouds the background completely, that really does it for me. Good to see a different slice of life in the city rather than skyscrapers.

Good result for taking this from a moving cable car, Chris, and I like that you decided to keep the tilt. A good depth in this view into the street with the older buildings, and the mist adds something very special to the atmosphere. Well done.

very well done! First of all, I like colors of this work, this shade slightly deprives these houses of the present, reminding images 60. Easy distortion from a lens emphasizes this impression. Very successful composition. Excellent work. Bravo.

A clever use of a wide angle lens, Chris. It creates a very good effect of perspective. This looks like a typical Chinese street. The hase fits this shot perfectly, very well done.

I like the original angle of view which lets us discover a long ange of buildings. The pastel colours are also interesting. Good shot !

I really enjoy your point of view here! And the misty, overcast feel to everything really enhances the mood of this interesting place!

Very good POV. The rising mist is so dramatic. The slight blur is even more dramatic. This is a vERY good shot.

Impressive shot, considering circumstances! Not easy at all. I like the misty background and the vertigo view. Overall dramatic character. Excellent shot!

I love this shot, and I also like Chongqing.
I think Chongqing is a very strange city in China .Its mountain, rivers, girls, fog, streets, and chaffy dish all leave me deep impression .

It looks like the dark age has come to China. The houses look so abandoned, nobody's walking in the street, the fog around the buildings... it is so sad that is nice too.

It's magic! I like the composition (street at bottom edge, street across the "sad" diagonal), the feeling of depth and volume (perspective, focus + mist), interesting details (windows, trees), peaceful colour palette (yellow-grey), fresh and original setting (never seen _this_ China). Superb!

Chris, Interesting POV of this street in what seems to be an older part of a very old city. Shows an insight into where and how others live. Ideal for TE.
