Photographer’s Note

Again, mondaymorning, my day off in London while my colleagues were stuffed into the office in Amsterdam again.

While the city was waking up, some men were cleaning this little street. The street is best known as "Under The Arches" and has a few shops. I am not sure, but I believe this place is called "Under the Arches" because it is located in the arches underneath the Charing Cross station - which would make sense off course :)
(please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this)

Also the famous London gay-club "Heaven" is located under these arches (the club is on the right side in this picture). Unlike many other gay clubs, this one attracts a lot of straight people as well.

A friend and I have been to this club on Saturday night, though the party was disappointing and quite boring we were sort of amazed by the coziness of these arches when we got out of the club (let's say on a Sunday morning around 4AM). Luckily this mystical and magical atmosphere was still around when I got back to this area on Mondaymorning for a cup of coffee and breakfast.

I really wanted to capture this scenery because it's just such a warm and embrasing location. Luckily the lights really give a good sense of the atmosphere. Also the one man walking here and the one man sitting here - while there's nobody and nothing else around adds up to the whole thing.
