Re-posted. Cropped a little off of each side, reduced saturation slightly on building and grass, reduced noise in sky using Neat Image, and added a thin frame.
This old schoolhouse is located on on the west side of U.S. route 71 in rural Clay County and southwest of the town of Spencer, Iowa. Surprisingly, there are still several old one and two-room schoolhouses in existence throughout the state of Iowa. Unfortunately, vandals have spray painted this one but in a strange sort of way I sort of like it from a photographer's point of view. This particular school is at the very top of a hill and is an impressive sight while driving along U.S. 71 from either direction.

Nice compo. The school looks spooked or something...

Hi. very good framing. I like the minimal amount of grass on the bottom. also the POV is very smart and the theme, along with the note are very interesting. great shot, in my opinion.

Nice compo and POV. Good use of polarising filter! Probably still a bit too much noise. You could try Noise Ninja

Fantastic composition and POV, Greg! I wonder if the lower part of the photo could be darkened a bit, perhaps with a black-to-transparent gradient on a layer. In a hurry, so can't do a ws. But I love it the way it is anyway. Well done.

Wow! Le sujet est intéressant, le cadrage est parfait et le ciel est fabuleux.
J'adore cette photo.

Magnificent composition and great colours, excellent use of the polarizer to get that deep saturation.
If I may, I have a small grumble about the frame, I don't think the rust-coloured border works - but a great shot in my view

Pretty cool shot here Gregory. The wide amount of sky you've shown here really makes this little building look like one lonely place.

Very good cropping. You got the essential and this is very expressive. Nice cloud over the school. It's dynamic.

Hi Greg! I think this crop really emphasizes that bizarre cloud line for a dramatic effect. Nice work!

Well, it wasn't a school house in my day... or my 91 year old father's! 'Ran across this image looking for some historical images of my hometown of Spencer. I love this shot, looking west. I like the tall cropping too. Immediately recognizable to me.
My father was born in Spencer in '25 and when Hitler started pulling his stunts in EU, the owner of this property, a German immigrant and old at the time, ran a herd of goats on the land. Long before the highway was so busy for sure... as Dad was growing up it became known as "Goat Hill" and the old gent would be seen in town in his old Ford, festooned with American flags on fenders and bumpers. He didn't want to be cast in the light of a German sympathizer.
Anyway, the rural school houses in Iowa were uni formally single story wood frame, unless they fell within the city limits of a good sized town. Hope this helps. I don't mean to be critical, just informative.
