Photographer's Note
This was taken on Granville Island in Vancouver. Granville Island itself is one of the better visited tourist spots in Vancouver and it seems the tourists are more generous to the gulls than locals. This lady obviously does not care that many Canadians (as well as others I am sure) use the not so loving nickname of sh*t hawks when describing gulls. Actually, they are quite beautiful birds, it is just the mementoes they leave which I don't like.

I find this shot very good, Darren. The woman is undoubtedly amused but with some trepidation. We all know how much we hate the gulls at a picnic and the subtle message of the garbage can at 1/3rd hints at what these birds are really about.

Hi Darren;
I can't believe you've only gotten 2 points so far on this shot. It's a great shot; good composition, nice depth of field, it's sharp and you captured the action. Anyone who's ever been- would have to agree; when you think of Granville Island, this is one of the things you remember...
Cheers!
