Photographer’s Note
Because The Night
Take me now baby here as I am
Pull me close, try and understand
Desire is hunger is the fire I breathe
Love is a banquet on which we feed
Come on now try and understand
The way I feel when I'm in your hands
Take my hand come undercover
They can't hurt you now,
Can't hurt you now, can't hurt you now
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to lust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us
Have I doubt when I'm alone
Love is a ring, the telephone
Love is an angel disguised as lust
Here in our bed until the morning comes
Come on now try and understand
The way I feel under your command
Take my hand as the sun descends
They can't touch you now,
Can't touch you now, can't touch you now
Because the night belongs to lovers ...
With love we sleep
With doubt the vicious circle
Turn and burns
Without you I cannot live
Forgive, the yearning burning
I believe it's time, too real to feel
So touch me now, touch me now, touch me now
Because the night belongs to lovers ...
Because tonight there are two lovers
If we believe in the night we trust
Because tonight there are two lovers ...

Hello Paolo,
Bravo

Well anchored shot on both ends, by the castle and ferris wheel. Beautiful composition. The reflections in the water are fantastic. Sort of a small shame that they dont extend all the way to the ferris wheel. This sort of night shooting is what I plan on finally doing too now that I have a tripod and will get my chance this weekend when I head down to Jinju(which is a city in the south of the peninsula and whose name I stole for my nickname here) where I started my Korean Adventure 4+ years ago.

Ciao Paolo,
A very nice image where the golden tones contrast really nicely with the black. Thierry is right about the techs, but this supposes having a camera with manual controls like a DSLR... Christmas, maybe ?
From a compo point of view, I like the fact the temporary wheel balances very well the church, and the light line above the boats is a sort of link in this photo.
Buona giornata,
Jean-Yves

Bonjour Paolo,

Hi Paolo,
Nice shot well exposed and with good colors.
Maybe you could have shoot more the water and less the dark sky, but that's a personnal taste.

hi Paolo, a change from your sky/sunset/paradise shots...but this is also lovely, wonderful golden colours of the lights in the city set against such a dark background- that creates really good contrast. and the reflection of this golden light in the water is wonderful.
best regads

Hi Paolo,
Beautiful night shot!
I especially like the reflected light on the water... it creates some awesome patterns. The composition is very good, but I wish you could go a bit wider to get more view on the left. Anyway, I really like it!

Oh wow - what a beautiful frame......probably your most beautiful :O) Just kidding, Paolo.
It's a nice evening-shot. So well composed with the church and wheel on each side and then the big boats, the promonade (?) and all the houses. Nice reflextions in the water as well.
I guess you used tripod?
I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, Paolo.
:) Tina

Ciao Paolo
Bella foto, but I think that using a smaller aperture the details might have come out a little more sharp, especially the refections. Obviously if used the smaller aperture the the exposure would have to be increased. I like your POV and the way you have also included the ruota panaramica on the left.
Bravo.

Ciao Paolo,
Great shot of this night scene of Menton. The light reflections on the water are marvellous and the composition and POV are very good, with the sight of the wheel at the left and the Cathedral at the right. The sight of the city is very pleasant with all those nice houses along the river. Interesting detail of the white horizontal line along the bay, problably caused by the exposure (although one second isn't enough...)...
Good work and thanks a lot for sharing it!
Have a nice day,
Ricardo

Paolo
Excellent picture, nice gold reflections in the water and a nice lighting effect. The dark sky is good and adds impact. It could have been cropped back a bit but the picture is great as it is anyway.
cheers

Hi Paolo - great night view, the skyline is full of charm and the wheel adds a nice touch, but what I like best are the golden reflections in the dark water, the relatively fast exposure thankfully has not blurred them. (I'm not a Springsteen fan, but I like this song, especially the version sung by Patty Smith.)

Hi Paolo,
Thierry is right in saying that with a smaller aperture and longer exposure, the reflection would have been smoother. But for me, I do like that is exactly that: not smooth. We are used to see smooth reflections, but I like here the kind of "rough" (sorry, not sure about the good word) zigzag of the golden lights reflected in the water. But, I'm not sure about the wheel so closed to the frame though. What really stroke my eyes is the golden hue, very beautiful!
