Chengdu Bridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Renmin Nanlu Bridge, across the Nan He River (Jin Jiang) in Chengdu. The cbd is on the right across the river in the background. This street leads to a large statue of Mao. From this vantage point, the trees look like they're actually growing on the bridge, although I'm pretty sure they were lining the opposite river bank.

The temperature range that day was 3c to 8c.

A great foggy atmosphere in the top part of the frame contrasting with the clear and well defined reflections on the river. Very well done !

Hi Chris, waht a nice reflection and what a very good point of view. I like the grey atmosphere, was it purely the cold and mist? Or is there a lot of pollution as well? There's almost no color in the shot, I like that.

Hi Chris:
Excellent point of view to catch this beautiful picture. The color's quality is very fine and the high brithness looks very nice. I am not sure about the lightning effects but this picture looks very original and smooth.

I like the centralized ilumination. About the background, it's very good and i think that it's pretty to see something at the back part of this bridge.

Hey Chris. At first I assumed this was in France! Good job dealing with the overcast conditions. The lack of wind sure gave you a mirror-like surface for those reflections. The depth is also excellent. Nice one Chris.

Hi Chris,
A very well composed scene, with soft tones and much ambience. I like how the lamp poles are interspersed in a symmetry between the trees on the far side of the bridge. The POV is superb and the drab sky actually adds to the mood here. Great reflections and super framing and cropping. A wonderful capture.

It is very interesting how it seems to lose saturation as eye follows the image higher to the sky. I love the clear reflections in the water, too. Nice work, Chris!
