Senate Square in Macau, looks more like Portugal, than China. Macau was a Portuguese colony / enclave, from about 1600 ce, until recently (1999) when it again became a part of China.
Macau is a very good day trip from Hong Kong. The red flowers are 'poinsettia', a native of Mexico.

I find the eye flow of this shot interesting, combining the curve with the perspective. The vibrant colours make this place very lively and full of energy. Excellent catch! Have a nice weekend.

Nice presentation from Macau Chris. And sure this place looks portugese, and is a nice part of town, whos many other placec does not give a special Portugese impression.

Chris, you do get around. I like the colors and especially the composition on this one. The curves of the walkway and the flowerbed, plus the line of the building at left, all very pleasing to my eye. Plus decent sharpness for a scan.

Again a very nice scanning of this picture, absolutely colorful, also excellent perspective because of the fronts of buildings leftside.

Nice composing with the circular flowerbed in the foreground opening the view across the square, Chris. A very colorful and detailed ensemble, with always a good add provided by the pedestrians. Good shot. I actually think that the contrast in this one could be deemphasized a bit.

Boa Tarde Chris,
Nice sunny and thanks to the flowers colorful perspective that shows well the portuguese character of Macau, very different from HK. I was there too and may post a shoot or two later, but your post leads me to a question... You placed this in China, however your post was taken in 1998 when Macau was still portuguese, so does this post belong to China or Portugal ?
I had the same interrogation when I posted my Bank of China and ended up with the same decision as you, seems logical as disappeared countries do not have any folder anymore (SSSR, DDR).
Have a nice week end,

I like your shot and specially the building on the left because it looks like as a building in one of the Greel islands(Corfu)and the natives call it List on.At the same time your capture is very nice and i like the colours and the lights.Well done.

excellent dense colours with rich and bright flowers. The perspective is well taken and the graphical presentation is splendid.
A very bold scenery.
