Po Klong Garai is a Cham ruin on top of a hill in central Vietnam. The 'Cham' were heavily influenced by Hinduism, & later Bhuddism, which were both introduced from India. The Cham empire existed at the same time as Angkor Wat in neighbouring Cambodia. (13th century) Polarised.

Great subject, and use of the arch as a frame, though it does leave the whole thing rather central. Rather a grainy sky again, especially for you, who tuaght me how to correct it :-)

this is a nice perspective here, it's a picture on the picture. I like the polarized colors it give a good contrast and saturation

Great use of the arch to frame the shot with the shape repeated on the ruin. Including the person walking up the steps adds scale and a dynamic to the image. Very rich saturated colours as well.

What a fine historic place!great POV,god use of the arch in F.ground and great depth with a nice perspective, also the light and shadow are well controlled and the blue of the sky with a piece of clouds in it is beautiful,I like this combination of warm colors with the blue,...well composed and I like it,Chris!

I like this compo with the fine framing of the gate there. Good inclusion of the person in the stairs. Interesting place.

Good result of polariser-use,strong and bright colors.A good compo with depth, the person on the stairs is a fine extra.

Good framing in which the foreground arch quite precisely echoes the outline of the structure that is seen in the background. Good DOF, nice perspective, and well-saturated colors. Very nice work, Chris. I have ambivalent feelings about the person included - it certainly adds scale and dynamic, but also interferes a bit with the harmony of the overall setting.

A very great gate construction on the foreground, the stairs in the middle with the person, give nice depth, a good composition of this area of Vietnam so beautiful.
weswang (18223) 2005-03-09 13:58
The photo is well framed by the gate in the foreground. The contrast of the colors of the architect, sky, and the trees made a strong composition. Well done, Chris.

The natural framing from the gate is great for this picture. I like the combination of earthy red and dark blue. In this paricular picture I think the person is a little disturbing - I know how hard it can be to get a clean shot at these places and in many cases other tourists can make a picture more interesting, but here I don't know.

I love ancient sites very much. Very well composed picture with good perpective. The arc, steps and than the temple look very deep. Also the tree closing 1/3 of the temple has a wonderful effect in fron of the blue sky. Very good job. Thanks for sharing...

Très bon choix d'angle pour ta prise de vue. La saturation des couleurs est agréable. La surexpo est limite sur l'escalier. Très bon job !

Very nice composition with the simmilar shapes of the gate and the "Cham", like a negative and a positiv shapes. Also a very nice contart of colors. Well done, Chris.

Very nice chosen point of view here Chris. The polarizer did a good job, the blue of the sky is purerb.
anakin (2775) 2005-03-10 17:36

Bonsoir ,Bien vu , cette idée de cadrage est tres bonne ce que j'aime moins c'est ce personnage sur les marches mais cela n'enleve rien à cette belle photo . Les couleurs sont tres belles aussi comme le contraste .
bazal (7900) 2005-03-18 9:45
Wonderful saturated colors you've captured for this good POV. The frame offered by the foreground arch is very nice and the composition is well balanced. Good shot, Chris and have a nice WE too !
fabianoleite (10464) 2011-10-23 7:17
The arch made a symmetrically perfect frame for the old castle, and the trees provide a great balance of colors and improve the composition. Good work, congratulations!
