Hiring a small boat to take you on a short cruising tour around the island may be a touristy thing to do; but then again, tourists make up about 75% of the island on any given day in July. It is the absolute best way to see the outer edge of Capri though, and I would recommend any do so. The cliff walls are stunning, the caves and grottos that surround the island are unique, and floating under the arch is an incredible time.
As we were floating, the sun was at such a position in the sky that the towering rock formations almost blocked it out completely. The result was a few select rays of life shooting towards us on our boat in the Bay of Naples, while we floated and stared in awe of this Italian island paradise that the Roman Emperors used to call a vacation spot some 2,000 years ago.
