Waves in Agios Gordios Photo

Photographer’s Note

Strong wind, bad weather and big waves in Agios Gordios! I could not swim that day.
Here is possible to see the touristic settlement, recently built whitout any shape - on the contrary there are lovely old villages high over the hills.

I bei paesi sull'isola di Corfù sono quelli arroccati sulle colline; l'insediamento turistico lungo la spiaggia è informe, qua lo si vede da un punto di vista dall'alto. La giornata era fredda, ventosa e le alte onde non consentivano certo di nuotare.

Superbe prise de vue plongeante sur la plage où la mer laisse courir à plaisir ses vagues pleines d'écumes et venir mourir doucement sur la grève.
Très belle composition. Un endroit joliment mis en valeur.

Hola Livia.
Despite the bad weather your were able to capture a beautiful view from this high POV, your vertical format give us the opportunity to see the the huge cliff of the impressive rock mountains, the waves with nice white foams and the cosy village with very good details, colors and sharpness. Good composition.

What a view! The contrast between the landscape and the agitated sea is amazing - emphasized by this wonderful pattern of the waves. The vertical compositione here work very well.

Hi Livia.

I love this shot. Who could not fall in love of this place with this amazing and beautiful landscape and picture?
If I could I would leave my snow-covered mountains (that's the place where I am in this very moment) and I would go there.

Of course, later I would come back to "my" mountains... but, what I mean, you have done a great work on this photo.

una bella vista dalla montagna, normalmente le onde si vedono di fronte, ma cosi´ e´ molto meglio.

Vista la foto, il pensiero unico è stato: "Voglio avere una casa lì! Voglio quella gialla in terzo medio: anche se il mare magari tra trent'anni me la mangerà, intanto me la godo."

Ciao Livia,
stamattina ho scattato alcune foto al mare con un vento forte pioggia e tanto freddo, qui invece si nota che e' semplicemente una mareggiata tant'e' che gli ombrelloni sono in spiaggia.
belle queste onde spumeggianti in questa piccola cala .

Quanti buoni ingredienti.
Vediamo di riassumerli:
- formato verticale (a tutto vantaggio della profondità);
- componenti ritmiche (ripetersi dei tetti e delle finestre, susseguirsi delle onde);
- motivo diagonale (multiplo: riva e onde);
- regola dei terzi (il promontorio occupa il terzo superiore).

Ciao Livia,

in questo periodo siamo tutti a caccia di onde, io per primo.
Effettivamente i frangenti che arrivano alla riva sono il piatto forte di questa composizione. Tuttavia per me le foto di viaggio hanno un valore anche documentaristico e mi piace vedere che tipo di case ci sono e la morfologia/geologia della zona. Questo tuo scatto soddisfa questi miei parametri e anche quelli estetici. Malgrado non ci fosse sole hai ottenuto dei bei colori.
