Photographer’s Note
Lamayuru, Ladakh - altitude 3540 m
This is the peculiar yellow terrain of Lamayuru, called the Moonland. A hairpin turn is a road toward Srinagal from Leh via Kargil. Zanskar can be seen from the pass on the right side.
Taken at 09:16 with handheld on a clear day on the way back to Leh from Zanskar, the half of trekking schedule there was rain and even snow.

Hi Hisashi
The fact that it looks so dry indeed contributes to this moon impression, even though I can see a small flora fringe next to the river, the snaking road is eye catching and its small size tell us how big this landscape is, you have found a good overlooking pov to get this comprehensive view.
Have a nice day JY

Hello Hisashi,
Fantastic capture of this amazing landscape. The sharpness, clarity and definition of your image is perfect.
I'm fascinated by the colours, the earthy tones interrupted by the small patches of vivid green is quite incredible.
Superb POV and composition, sensational capture.

hello Hisashi,
you're right, the place does look like a surface of the Moon, the textures create a feeling that the mountain was boiling just a short moment ago, only a thin crust has hardened and that at any moment the force of nature can errupt again. smart idea to include the winding road, it gives a good sense of scale. very nice work, my compliments.
regards,
Kristine

hello Hisashi
I admire your adventure spirit and you are very active TE from Japan that has impressive gallery.
I do not think we have such close up detail of the moon but I can guess in future the moon surface will look very much like this.
Amazing texture detail in sharpness for this landscape capture. I like your POV selected to show the extended wide view and it must be splendid to see LV version of this.
Interesting to see the small scale of vehicles on the winding road up the hill. Well done.

Hello Hisashi,
great landscape picture of this "moonland".
I like the nice colors and good light. The sharpness, clarity and the visible details are close to perfect. Those little vehicles on the street are good to have something to go on for dimensions. Very well done.
Best wishes,
Helmut

A really incredible landscape where the color of these rocks do bring a very curious atmosphere? I like the way you have included the road in order to show the scale of this outstanding place.
Have a nice evening.

Hi Hisashi,
It really does look like a barren environment, but for solace we have just a little splash of green and life in the corner which lets us know that perhaps life is possible here! The road creates a great sense of scale to this huge landscape, and I like the super dark blue sky, perhaps a benefit of you being so high up! You really have travelled a lot looking at you gallery, and to some great, off the beaten track places. So here's to you and your adventurous spirit!
