Photographer’s Note

This is a shot from the gardens of the Melk Abbey. The gardens are well maintained and a nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon.
The abbey of Melk forms part of one of the most impressive Baroque monuments that can be found in Austria. Apart from the abbey museum in the former imperial rooms, the marble hall, the library as well as the world-famous abbey church, which can be visited all year round, the abbey park can only be visited from May till October. Nonetheless, the following attractions continuously welcome thousands of visitors each year: The Baroque garden pavilion with exotic frescos by Johann W. Bergl, the rose garden, the 250 year-old lime trees near the Baroque water pool, the recently cultivated small Paradise garden, the "Benedictus Trail", or the "Talking Stones".
