On a train from Burgas on Tuesday, the stop at Karnobat is next to this mine, which had attracted a flock of masses birds. Rather brought to mind a movie adaptation of some gothic novel.

Yes, Richard, there is something Hitchcockian about this image. Are they birds or blood-sucking bats? Is Bulgaria anywhere near Transylvania? The black structure against the sky adds to the feeling of menace Regards kevin

Hello Richard,

The old mine towers are in Belgium disappear since 1970
You make a nice combination between the dark part of the construction and the clear sky, I find this a wonderful area.
You show here a very nice detail picture with the birds around the tower.
Very well of colour and pleasant for look it. TFS.

I like these sort of industrial landscape images. A fine composition with good graphical lines from the pit shaft head. The birds circling round add much to the mood. Well seen and executed.
