Entre la terre boueuse et l'eau trouble,
entre l'équilibre et la chute,
entre la joie et la peine.
Le Cambodge sous la mousson a perdu ses repères.
Les paysages changent et deviennent aquatiques.
Les maisons sont des îles, les routes sont des digues.
Et les enfants jouent de cet environnement précaire.

Between the muddy ground and the turbid water, between the balance and the fall,
between the joy and the sorrow.
Kampuchea under monsoon lost its reference marks.
The landscapes change and become watery.
The houses are islands,
the roads are dams.
And the children play of this precarious environment

Hi Bertrand! beautiful composition, I like the boy in the foreground an the large space you gave to water.

Ah....the boy. Is obviously the key in the picture for sure! Without him, this picture is the typical I could take. With him, is a Bertrand's picture!

Good morning Bertrand,
Another good one from the monsoon season. The boy balancing plays an important role in here, a bit off center and a good balance to the far background where the small town is waiting. The soft sky fits good to the harder colours in the foreground...very nice.

Bertrand- amazing clarity in this shot- I can see ripples in water upto the far end.
I'm also impressed with ur choice of vertical POV capturing all in one frame. Very well done.

Bonjour Bertrand,

Une bien belle photo, pleine de vie grace a ce garcon en premier plan, a l equilibre instable, a l image de ta note sur le Cambodge.
La majeure partie de l image est occupée par l eau et ca traduit bien un des visages de ce pays.
Une double reussite,

another fine composition from the monsoon season. Today we lose our huge sky and replce it with a huge river. the boy balancing just off center anchors this down.

Olá Bertrand, you always make good captures of the children playing by the river in Asian countries. The light isn't perfect here but you managed well and the kid is nicely placed with his both arms pointing the diagonal. Nice sense of depth.

Je ne sais pas ce que je préfère entre ta belle note poétique et ta photo composée de façon si originale avec cette immense étendue d'eau séparant l'enfant insouciant de ce qui peut être son village. Bravo pour tout!

une image qui n'y parait pas mais qui est bien composée avec les deux "terre" en bas et en haut avec au milieu toute l'eau, le gamin nu est idéalement placé, un travail d'une photo qui pourrai sans problème être dans paris match

Excellent framing, Bertrand, giving the impression that the boy is making his first step into a huge sea, perhaps the huge sea of life. The arms held out for balance are a really nice touch--one does not make such a "first step" without some care. The whole thing is a great commentary on life. Regards, Ken.

Fantástica composição...o segundo plano, ou seja, o "outro" cenário depois desse imenso rio está muito bonito, coberto por um céu de nuvens densas e cores clarinhas.

Hello Bertrand,
Very good use of the vertical format to enhance the huge distance that the boy is from the village in the other side of what seems to be a river - or is it the result of the moonsoon season?
The way he seems to be balancing dangerously near water brings a lot of action to the photo and at the same times shows perfectl the precarious way those kids live their life.

This vertical framing giving so much depth to the image is fantastic. The little space in which the kid moves at the bottom is in accordance with his feeling of imbalance... lots of water in front of him, and then...the sky... Very interesting perspective. Congrats!
