Innsbruck is the capital city of the federal state of Tyrol in western Austria. It is located in the valley of the river "Inn" (Inntal) at the junction with the Wipptal, which provides access to the Brenner Pass, some 30 km south of Innsbruck.

"Innsbruck" is composed of the words "Inn" (name of the river) and "bruck" (from the German word "Brücke" which means "bridge"). A bridge was built at this place already in 1180 and gave the town it's name.

Beautiful combination of colors in this photo. I like the nocturnal perfection of the buildings set against the blue of the sky and the silhouette of the mountains. My only criticism is that I think there is a bit too much water and street in the FG. I would have like the mid line of the picture to fall just over the line of the roof tops. Still this is really a very nice photo and much better than the completely black post cards that I remember with the phrase "Innsbruck beim nacht".

Bonjour Mike,
Jolie vue nocturne de Innsbruck a l'heure bleue, la couleur du ciel est une caracteristique du 40D cependant les hautes lumieres cote droit sont un peu grillees.
