Photographer’s Note
This is a commom scenery. The square and the old man, alone with himself, with his own past, with his own future, with his own reality, alone in his own life. Sometimes conscious, sometimes absent, most of the times sad.
Wherever we go, there are always squares like this, where people stay for a while, alone, living their own sadness.
Its just a commom post, showing something you probably see everyday nearby your home, or here, posted to TE.
I hope you will never let your parents and grandparents take part of this scenery, because I don´t want to see your figure posted to TE later...
Sorry for this sad note, but the picture just tell me this story.
Regards,
Zeca

Hi Jose, difficult shot to pull off, with the strong backlighting. You did well to avoid any overexposed areas. The man is well placed in the frame, perhaps a shame that the statue is so close to him, or there at all. I wonder how it would look with the statue cloned out. cheers, Steve

Hallo Zeca!
Sad and beautiful at the same time - as life is ... I like your words in addition to this photo - a photo which tells a story ...
Greetings from Germany, grey and cool!

Hi, Jose. Well, sadly enough, this happens in every part of the globe. You've composed your picture carefully with the man sitting under the leaves off-centre. The light was difficult to manage, but I think you did it quite well. There is a good contrast between the green in the foreground and the leaves at the other side of the square.
Have a nice day,
Philippe

Well done.

His dejection shows in his body language; hunched shoulders. You have used the light very well. It's effect on the overhanging branch is beautiful. You have carefully adjusted your POV to use it perfectly as a frame for the man and the statue. A beautiful, yet poignant image.

Lindíssimo o efeito dessa ramagem toda a filtrar a luz. Excelente exposição, composição brilhante. Parabéns.
Um abraço,

Oi Zeca,
Flavia

Hi Jose,
You captured a "common" great moment,
Trees naturally framing the photo as part of the composition are my favorites;
the old man really adds to the mood of this photo,
as it seems he is pondering about something--adding a nostalgic tone.
The statue is another great detail, and what is more interesting is how the leaves actually frame the statue as well!
Lovely!
Warm regards!!!
Maryori :)

Bien realizada.
Un abrazo,
Josep

Well done & thank you.

Bonjour Jose,
