Photographer’s Note
La Boca is one of the most colorful barrios in Buenos Aires. Its brightly colored buildings give the area a very festive appearance.
Italian immigrants were the first settlers of La Boca, and the working class neighborhood was Buenos Aires' first port. Today the buildings in the barrio are painted in bright colors. We wandered down the famous pedestrian street of La Caminito, which was named for a popular tango song. Many local artists were selling their wares, while others danced the tango for the many visitors. (source: About.com)
One word of caution -- all the guidebooks caution tourists to visit La Boca during daylight hours or to be sure and stay only in the La Caminito area.
>>> Buenos Aires is a very pintoreque and photogenic city, but when visiting, be very careful of your surroundings. Unfortunately for me, while taking some night shots two nights ago, my camera was quickly snatched out of my hand by some random guy who quickly ran away after taking my camera. Well, I am glad I bought an extra one-- a little old, but it helped me to capture this photo from "Caminito"
Of course, this kind of thing can happen anywhere to anyone--so I was a"lucky" one.
Maryori :)
I decided to tilt because the sky was very white and bright, and since I was using the old camera, I couldn't manage the light, and the sky would have looked extremely overexposed.
I'm experimenting a little bid and I kind of like tilting my photos see?

I like the colours indeed. Your framing is an interesting choice. I actually like the tilt. You've done well here, as it looks like a crummy day, which most people have stayed inside for. It give your photo a good mood to it. A shame about your camera, good thing you had an extra one.

David

Sad to read what happened to you. That is the risk of all big cities, I guess. Your shot is really very nice for its colours and the great deal of detail. However, I am not so sure about the tilt and perspective. Otherwise it is a well done photo.

these colours really are eye-catching. I like the tilted effect, it makes the scene more dynamic. Sorry to hear you were robbed though.

Hi Maryori,
Lovely vertical presentation of this colorful outdoor cafe with the beautiful Buenos Aries architecture in the background.
The colors are clear and rich with excellent sharpness and lovely details to intricate balconies.

Hola amiguita:

hi maryori,
I definitely like your POV in this shot ... it provides such good perspective. The low light hasn't prevented you from getting rich colours and great sharpness.

A classic postcard shot, and I don't mean just because you framed it. A wonderful slice of this part of the barrio - very bright and colourful, and yet you can nevertheless see the sligfhtly seedy edge of the place. It is an interesting picture, which is one the best compliments in my opinion.
