Photographer’s Note

Weather in Batanes is very unpredictable....one minute, it's sunny, after a minute there's a storm brewing. This was taken late afternoon. The original photo was in color but due to the colorless clouds and unforgiving light, i decided to convert it to B&W. I waited for the waves to hit the breakwater before pressing the shutter, capturing the water splash.

Beautiful movement, catched at the right moment and speed. The sweet movements of water and the impressive character of the lighthouse dominating the scene are increased with the B&W. pleasure

Hi Alford,
A great effect with the spray and blur of movement of the water. The white of the water contrasts well with the light house and the hill in the background and I think that for this reason as well it works well as a black and white. A well timed shot.

A first class picture Alford, well taken and finely composed, the long exposure effect on the water, B&W also works well on it, compliments!!!
