Photographer’s Note

Parc Zoològic de Barcelona. Used spot metering on the darkest area to save the details with the risk that the elephants trunk would be over-exposed. It worked pretty well I guess because of the difference in skin textures of the big bloke's body and his trunk.

Got this one hanging in a frame in my office. Well, this elephant surely does have a polite smile, doesn't he..?

hmm, where have I seen this one before? ;)
do like the composition a lot and the same tint of colours.
Maybe the trunk is a bit too bright because of the sun, but that's ok. What is the white thing in his/her eye? A tear? Maybe an idea to erase it as it doesn't tell me what it is and also doesn't give the photo something special.
In any way, a cool pic!

Sorry, but for me the trunk is just too bright. My eyes are taken away from the rest of the image. Maybe selective curves adjustment could fixt that...would take a long time to do, though. I like how you framed the elephant, very original in this respect. Just the bright space...

I'm not sure that adjusting curves would help, there's no detail left to rescue unfortunately, it must have been a heck of a bright day.

Lovely photo though, all the same, cheerful!

love the idea,its a nice photo but if could be darker i would try to correct the over exposed areas.

The idea is the really good in any case sight is very original, can be not very precise but interesting nevertheless.

This is such a great shot... I just love everything in it. I love it as it is... I mean I would rather have some bright areas here (as long as they are not over exposed wildly) than have a slightly better, yet modified shot
