On the Pyramid Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hello everyone,

After my first and my second , here is my third shot to present you the famous Pyramid located at the entrance of the Louvre.

You probably know that it was commissioned by the French president François Mitterand (1984).

But did you know that the original idea of creating a pyramid on this square was exposed in a booklet edited in 1809?
Its author, Bernard François Balssa called it "Mémoires sur deux grandes obligations à remplir par les français" which I would translate with "Memories about two large requirements to be fulfilled by French".
One of these requirements was to elevate a pyramid in the Louvre square, which should be a national monument as a recognition to the Emperor. A secret idea would be to elevate an emblem to freemasonry.

J'aime beaucoup le graphisme de ton image avec l'arc de triomphe en arrière plan (dommage pour la tente!). Lors de mon passage ici, je n'ai pas réussi à sortir une photo intéressante ce que tu as très bien su faire (mode jaloux!)

Hello marianne,

Très belle recheche, le graphisem est mangigique, quel effet, génial et très original de nous présenter la pyramide des cette façaon, très beau boulot.

moi aussi j'aime mieux le WS, mais voilà, le choix fu difficle.

Dag Marianne,
Would it be possible to make this picture without all these people in the back? Probably not, so this is the best you can get. The artwork with lines looks very nice, just as the symmetry inside of it. It's a well thought composition which i like to see, despite the fact the people are there...

Un cadrage très original et très réussi au départ de la fameuse pyramide. J'aime beaucoup la touche de vie qu'apportent les gens et les arbres que l'on voit derrière l'avant-plan très graphique.

Bonjour Marianne,
Un POV génial, avec un cadrage millimétré dans un "papier millimétré"... en losanges ! Vraiment bien vu !
Ta note est très intéressante. Pas bête cette histoire de franc-maçonnerie, c'est vrai que cet enchevêtrement de losanges peut rappeler le symbole maçonnique du compas et de l'équerre... ça m'intrigue :)

Bonjour Marianne,
Un très bon rendu de ce graphisme et une toute bonne capture de la pyramide. Belle compo qui illustre un commentaire intéressant.
C'est amusant car avant de lire celui-ci j'avais pensé au symbole de la franc-maçonnerie(les triangles sans doute):-)
Le pov est tout bon et les personnages animent la scène.

Bonjour Marianne,
et bien tu as des photos qui cartonnent là, preuve que tu progresses à la vitesse de la foudre.
Voilà une manière bien personnelle d'ajouter un graphisme sublime à des vues de cette Pyramide souvent présentée sous les mêmes angles.
Le cadrage est en plus très efficace pour limiter le quadrillage et le laisser régulier.
C'est du tout net.

Marianne,
In some ways it looks kind of like many spider are building webs in the same cemetrical shapes, I like the abstraction of it and the view throught the glass is very nice and sharpe. I didn't spend too much time here it was raining when I was there. So it's good to see your image here of this famous place. Next time I will spend sometime here and maybe go inside too. Since I do like paintings.

Merci Marianne pour la note explicative, je n'aurais jamais pensé faire le rapprochement entre la Pyramide et la franc-maçonnerie.
Ta photo, ici ne joue pas sur les reflets mais sur la géométrie et la transparence. Il y a des photographes qui voient ce que les autres n'ont jamais vu, tu fais partie de ces photographes.

Many thanks for sharing this view that looking from the inside to the outside, we had see this majastic architecture from your previous posts, so we get the feel of it from the inside!

An excellent and original photo of the Louvre with this close-up view of the pyramid. The graphism is fantastic and there is also a nice combination between the modern architecture and the old style of the arch and the statue in the background. The light is pleasant too. Thanks for sharing!

Il parait que la forme pyramidale possède le pouvoir de momification :) d'après certains livres.
