Photographer’s Note

Another scene of the Bucharest center. This nice park is situated near an important building, the National Art Museum of Romania (the former Royal Palace). The palace was finished in 1937, the architect being N.Nenciulescu. It has two art galleries: the Romanian Art Gallery and the European Art Gallery. A great number of the paintings of the European section belonged to Carol I (the first king of Romania) and to other members of the royal family.
The red church on the right is Biserica Kretzulescu (or Creţulescu)--that is Kretzulescu Church, built between 1720-1722. Its name comes from the Romanian aristocrat Iordache Creţulescu, who financed the construction of the church.
