Photographer’s Note

This late afternoon view is looking across the northern part of Lake Wakatipu on the South Island, toward the Richardson Mountains. The little town of Glenorchy is just visible on the opposite lake shore, as a scattering of buildings. This location is on a dirt road that runs along the western side of the lake to Greenstone Station - well worth driving along for the views. Greenstone Station is the start (or end) of the Caples and Greenstone walking trails.

Scanned from a slide. Polariser used. I used some free software called Noiseware to smooth out the film grain noise in the lake and sky.

I like your view of Lake Wakatipu very much. The colours and reflections are great and the technique of smoothing the water is very effective.

This is absolutely fantastic view. i admire reflection so much and this one is of different kind. The alps in reflection is a major attraction here. I like it. thanks for sharing.

The lake has fine reflective qualities!
The view is well framed, with sharp fine details in the landscape...
A well balanced composition, where the snow-capped summits are effective eye-catchers in the distance!

Admirable view. I like very much the color of the water and the reflection of the tops of the mountains on the water. Beatiful composition too.
