View of Genève

This is my first photo from Genève, Switzerland, that I visited the last three days. The photo was taken last Saturday morning, a beautiful sunny day, just as last Sunday. The photo was taken from the Promenade du Lac, looking towards the Quai du Mont Blanc.

Genève (English: Geneva) is the second most populous city in Switzerland (after Zürich) and the most populous city in the country's French speaking part, Romandy (185,000 inhabitants). It is the capital of the Canton of Geneva and is situated on Lac de Genève or Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) and the Rhône River.
Being the home for many international organisations, like the United Nations and the Red Cross, it is an important global city. Also the Geneva Conventions were signed here.

The quality of the image is fantastic with good light, sharpness anad colours. You chose an excellent POV, not only to observe the lakeside buildings and the boats but the wonderful background of snow-capped mountains, under a glorious blue sky. Well done

Hej Lars,
Mooie foto. Martijn had al verteld dat het daar een beetje op Noord-Italië leek waar we afgelopen zomer waren.
Goede compositie met die stoomboot schuin op de voorgrond, daarna de huizen en daarachter de toppen van de bergen.
Door het goede weer zijn de kleuren ook prima.

Hi Lars,

The sharpness of this photo is amazing and the composition could not be better with the one of the old steamboats of Lac Léman in the foreground and the Quai du Mont Blanc in the background with Rolex advertisments and Hotel de la Paix. You seem to be travelling a lot these days.

There is something missing to symbolize Geneva, which is the famous "jet d'eau", but I much prefer this very nice view of this old fashioned paddle boat. Excellent colors and sharpness.

Bonjour Lars.
Dernièrement la télévision en France a montré un reportage sur les lacs célèbres du monde et le lac Léman y tenait une grande place. On a même eu droit de monter à bord de ce bateau à vapeur d'un autre âge. La photo nous montre bien la situation de Genève entre lac et montagnes.

Hej Lars,
a postcard beauty full of clarity and good light. The three layers in depth here by the ship the houses and the backline of peaks give interest in every part and create also a bit zigzag from the ship to houses to the peaks.

Glas helder scherp en schitterend van kleur, dit is zeker een van uw beste kwaliteits foto's op TE.
Een uitgedokterde samenstelling waar zoveel is tezien, van in de haven over de boten en woningentot debergen in de achtergrond.
Dit is zeer mooi foto werk Lars.

Een mooi standpunt in drie plannen: het water met de boten, de gebouwen die langs de rand worden aangepaste en de toppen die van sneuuw worden bedekt.

Hello Lars, for my part I always like this kind of image or is profiled water level and mountain behind plane, a good alternation of shade and light also on the reflections of the boat, your photograph luminous and is very coloured, pretty composition with all these boats which decorate of beautiful good way this small port, a beautiful covering joint of?il to this ric-rattle visual which puts in opposition the sailing boats and the background which proudly draws up its buildings with elegance, sincerely....................Hello Lars, pour ma part j’aime toujours ce genre d’image ou se profile plan d’eau et montagne en arrière plan, une bonne alternance d'ombre et de lumière aussi sur les reflets du bateau, ta photo est lumineuse et très colorée, jolie composition avec tous ces bateaux qui agrémentent de bien bel façon ce petit port, un beau clin d’œil à ce ric-hochet visuel qui met en opposition les bateaux à voiles et l'arrière-plan qui fièrement dresse ses édifices avec élégance, bien amicalement

Hi Lars,
fantastic POV that shows a spectacular view to us on waters of the lake. Excellent definition of image and colors and surprising brightness that is breathed by all the image. The landscape of the Alps snow-covered at heart of the image is a verdera jewel.
The presentation of the photo is impeccable and elegant!!

This is a neat shot! I like how the ship and the buildings have some related structures and colour, putting them in perfect harmony. The smaller boat coming in the opposite direction is another plus. It must be a great Saturday with that kind weather.

Olá Lars, crisp and clear first image of Geneva. The beautiful boat in FG suggests a trip around the Lac Léman to have the first impressions of the wonderful mountain landscape and its snowcapped peaks. Have a good game for this afternoon - don't be too rough on the Russians :)))))
