Castelsardo between rains Photo

Photographer's Note

I visited Castelsardo briefly after recommendation by TE member Jean-Yves (Pixelterror), and it is probably the most photogenic town on the north coast of Sardinia. The weather was another matter, I waited almost an hour for sunbreaks, there were showers before and after this was taken.

Those clouds appear to almost touch the hillside. The colours are spot on and the whole image is sharp and crisp. Well done.

An excellent shot with vivid colors. I love how those clouds are looming over the village. Your shot conveys two very distinctive atmospheres at once ... a dramatic one on the right part of the picture and a serene one on the left. Excellent composition. Congratulations!!!

Waiting was well worth it. Changing weather adds drama to the sky. Colourful buildings on a hill slope look nice. And I like the green tone on water.

Hi Tan, if all you had was good weather then you'd have to settle for boring blue skies and calm seas. This shot is great, it's got life to it, with colour in the sea, the waves hitting those rocks, the cloud filled sky and that colourful city. I like the contrasts you have here and the excellent saturation (another benefit of the rainy day).

This photo defines so well the recent weather conditions in Italy! : )
Mar Tirreno is always so picturesque and generous to photographers and you captured a piece of it with a very nice composition of lights, shadows and colors..

The filter here has added depth and drama to this lovely sky without looking unnatural. The wait for the weather was worth it, and the sunlight really gives a lift to the landscape and town.

waiting for the right moment and right light is exactly the virtue that differs the snap shot from a real shot. You got it perfectly with a flawless PP on top of it.

What a gorgeous village. It's so colourful and pretty perched up there on the sunny hill overlooking the wild see. The wide angle seems to accentuate the atmosphere created by the clouds and waves. So you got your typical ray of sunshine. Lucky you.

The vibrant colors, as much as the good composition, makes this a memorable shot. The sky is dramatic, and you've clearly brought out its most salient qualities — both with the neutral density filter and a bit of color saturation.

Is this not the home island of the gifted tennis player Rafael Nadal?

Dramatic heavy landscape with good defining colours and shapes and the cloud works make this a little bit foreboding as if something more is coming to shore. Better or impressionistic photos as you know, come to those who waits. And knows what it is when it does.

This is very nice and worth the wait for the light. Very picturesque and could be a travel poster for this lovely village. I don't know it is old eyes or what but the sea looks to be over sharpened, especially near the shore. Anyway, it is not too distracting to this fine image. Well done.
