Photographer’s Note
A second image from the performance of 'Our Queen Must Dance Naked'. This was a presentation performance of a number of dance, drummed and spoken word stories with this man playing the seer or 'witchdoctor' often with great humour and always with great energy!!
The context of the performance was a five day international festival in Rotterdam of community based or led arts initiatives from around the world - largely theatre, dance and film. So last week it was five whole days and nights watching and talking about the work.........now I need not go to the theatre for another five years!

Sounds like hard work Kev!
Lovely fresh image, the subtle blurring really helps to convey the sense of movement. Love the tight crop too & the space on the left to accomodate his sideways glance. Excellent B&W with some very nice highlights.
Warm regards, Roberto

new style, fresh look, inspiring though experimental crop and speed...and it fits my taste i have to say altough i'm not surprised that it's not THAT popular among the visitors...not an easy thing to read, this image...
best wishes, j.
added after a while: i can see here the co-existance of human power, pulse, rythm, i can smell the sweat, i can here the sound...this image grabs my senses...

Dear Kev,
another of your special photographs, full of rythm, of something wild and pure. I like particularly the blur here, just enough to convey the movement, still showing very well the face and its intense expression. The sepia toning is subtle with beautiful transitions of light and darkness. I think this is great work...

A colossal difference if it comes to the 'real action' photography...
Now - i can understand your previous note, Kev...
Now - I can see a real Ryan behind the camera (if such 'thing' like real Ryan still exists ?)
The previous ? I've seen immaculate optics of some Japanese manufacturer...
Now I see a man and his camera...
Now, you know everything, bro...Well.. Almost...(:-)))
It's time to tell me your secrets...

A time, a moment, an energy which exhausts all the necessity of a sharp lens.
This is the fury of the motion, a pinch of ecstasy with half shut eyes, stretched muscles of a mouth, a breathful of bare chest and thousands years of ropes and feathers and furs.
Hooo-ray!

Hi Kev,
There we go!!! There we have the passion!! Maybe a bit too tight in the composition. I like it, but part of his chest is taking away the attention and I'm really wondering about what he's having on his head and how that dances in the light!
So you're back home now again? Hahaha, George is going strong again I can see in the note. When and where is the festival in May?
Greetings!
Dennis

Hi Kev!
Oh yes, typically dutch ;-) Jokes appart, I like the wild thing that comes of this shot. The skin, the muscles, the movement, these eyes looking at what I imagine is a spear together with this tribal outfit makes me shiver. I feel like a sprinbok on a sacrifice alter.
Nice one!
Nicolas
