Leaning Old Red Photo

Photographer’s Note

While traveling through some streets in Ferndale, I discovered this old red barn in an open field. There are many like this in the area, and this adds an important element to the character of Ferndale and Bellingham.
I still have many things on my plate to take care of and hope to be back on this site critiquing soon. Thank you for the many who have stopped to visit my gallery. Thank you.

This is a wonderful capture! This kind of sky is one of my favorites and the red barn exposed to the sun is a very nice foreground for it. Great!

Hello Paul,

What a sensational photograph of the leaning red barn house, with the most threatening sky I've seen in years. You've chosen an exquisite vantage point, featuring ideal two-point perspective. Ultimately, however, the colors and resolution in this image make it memorable.

Très belle photo, Paul! Ce ciel chargé qui dramatise la scène apporte beaucoup à l'image dont j'aime la composition avec cette belle vieille ferme apportant sa touche de couleur.

The gloomy sky gives a nice mood to this shot, with the bright light falling on the red barn to make it stand out. Good composition.

Nice to see a new post from you. This is a wonderful shot made even better by that dramatic sky in the BG. The colours are rich in the old barn that looks like it may not be with us much longer.

This barn has seen better days and I guess it is not far from falling to the side but this is the way it goes and things change, sometimes not only for the better. I guess the sky suits this mood a little and it looks like some storm would approach soon. This is nice out here, and I like to travel country roads. an excellent image of the sky, in particular the deep blue sky with the heavy clouds is attractive. The lighting and colours are fantastic. The whole composition is very eye-catching. I dared a ws, hope you don't mind.

Great to see that you are still shooting Paul. I like the dark clouds in the background of this, which gives this a very dramatic appearance. The photo looks a little bit dark to me, but then if you lightened it up it wouldn't have the dark, brooding look. Nice work!

Hi Paul, What a powerful looking sky to create a dramatic mood, the lonely disheveled looking barn looks like it has been placed there for sacrifice to the rain gods, it add very welcomed colour, a brilliantly composed photo &, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Great shot. I always enjoy barn pictures. One of my 1st pics on TE was a barn photo.
There is so many interesting barns in Ferndale area.
