In my second travel to India, back in 1995, I remember a group of young men, carrying on their Granma, and asking me to take them a photo, it was a great moment of my travel for many reasons, and this photo has brougt back this memory to my mind, so thanks for it, and I hope this child wil takem them up someday in the future.
In situation like this, as a photographer I always think what to do with the white of the clouds and the mist, like in the right part of this photo, many people converted to B&W but I dont like that. In this case, I find this group to worthy to be here in TE that the rest just count a bit.

sheer beauty, bunch of guys with severe faces, ...and these faces are compensated by the parade of umbrellas, as if the umbrellas were helping the kids not to fall down...
fabulous family portrait...so real...
(good photography, imho, is when an observer may feel what the models think...and so is with this image and me at the moment...)

Salut Catherine,
very nice this daily snapshot with the grandmas and the children.I like their huge surprised black eyes and the colourful cloths.Indeed, clouds didn't help you in order to shot more interesting photos especially in the workshops.But i think, that the photograph is to represent the real facts at the decisive moment.Well done.

je vois que des pluies torrentielles peuvent également survenir en février,je croyais que c'était juste pendant la mousson!Les enfants sont trop mignons avec leurs grands yeux écarquillés,et la maman,elle,a plutôt l'air sérieux et même un peu sévère!J'aime la façon dont tu as cadré,avec le parapluis occupant une bonne partie de l'arrière-plan.Sa couleur est parfaitement assortie au châle,et le sari bleu fait des merveilles pour aviver l'ensemble!
Je te souhaite une bonne journée.

Secondo me il colore blu del vestito della donna ravviva tutta la scena.

Bonjour Catherine,

tres belle contribution a mon theme prefere "la Maternite". Les mamans des pays exotiques offrent des scenarios formidables pour les photos. Je ne dis pas ca au detrimant des mamans d'Europe, mais ma collection brille avec des premiers sujets. Quels beaux yeux ils ont ces enfants pour une divine communication. Encore merci Catherine, j'ai eu le plaisir.

Hello Catherine,
They seem not to consider the camera so much though you are in the close vicinity of them. It makes this photo deep the impression to have not fired the flash even though it is dark under the umbrella. Moreover best shutter speed for taking shot of rain has been selected. Nice portrait of the family!

cette photo est tout simplement merveilleuse. De nouveau la proximité, les regards directs, la grand-mère a l'air bien sévère, mais si belle et digne, les enfants ont tous des yeux brillants de vie, et il y les couleurs si belles sous la pluie, la douceur de la lumière, les énormes parapluies qui donnent du graphisme, et surtout il y a la rencontre...
Bravo ! de tout coeur.

I really like this shot, there is just something about it. The kids have curious expressions but the grandmother looks stern. Great sharpness and the umbrellas are wonderful element in the shot. Nice point of view too from the kids level but looking up to the grandmother.

This is a photo I'd like to take myself. The expressions on their little faces are beyond words. I like the way these three share that huge umbrella...too big even for three to hold porperly. You did a very good job here Catherine. A simple daily life scene, yet there is something touching, profound and intense in it.
