"Gherkin in B&W" Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another shot from London, the famed "Gherkin", with a slight deferent view in B&W. I took it one step farther by inverting the B&W for a slightly different look.

I never saw it personally but I think this picture is about that building that looks like a space rocket. Anyway, it is a very good picture. Well done.

I think it's a close up of the "Gherkin". I like the B&W presentation it makes for an even stronger graphical shot. I have been browsing your gallery and I see that you like B&W.

Hello Dan -

This in my book is a very underrated photo. There is very little one can with the "The Gherkin" as unique as it is it looks the same from all angles and perspectives. You have presented this building a different light and perspective. I like how you have inverted the image, I would never have thought of it, to give us something to stretch imaginination. It does look a bit "other worldly" but if you have seen the building you would recognize it immediately. The one down side though is that I am not sure I like the black border all that much. Well done!

I like this shot! I'm getting more and more into abstraction and arty photos, so this is they type of shot that I really like. The combination of the curving line of the structure and the straight lines of the building makes a nice contrast. The processing shows the pattern to maximum effect too. Well done!

Another interesting perspective on this famous building! I work right next to it, so always nice to see people's take on it. The black and white and angle you chose here create a beautiful graphic image with wonderful lines and contrasts. Well done!
